Short Circuit Sparks Fire in Mumbai, Seven Members of a Family Perish
Mumbai: In a tragic incident early this morning, at least seven members of a family, including two children, lost their lives in a fire reportedly triggered by a short circuit in a two-storey building in Mumbai’s Chembur area. The unfortunate event occurred at around 5 a.m. in Sidharth Colony, according to officials.
The blaze is believed to have originated in a ground-floor shop that dealt in electrical goods and quickly spread to the upper level, where the family lived, officials said.
The victims have been identified as 7-year-old Paris Gupta, 10-year-old Narendra Gupta, Manju Prem Gupta, aged 30, Anita Gupta, aged 39, Prem Gupta, 30, Vidhi Gupta, and Geeta Gupta. Despite being rushed to the hospital, they were pronounced dead upon arrival.
